The Spring 2023 Grocery Outlet Spring Wine Sale is around the corner – it runs from April 3-11, 2023. As usual, all wines will be 20% off. If you’re looking for a wine that’s good value, try Francis Ford Coppola’s Grazie Mille!

Grocery Outlet wine sale, Spring 2022

From April 6-12, the Grocery Outlet will be holding its biannual wine sale – all wine will be discounted a further 20%. My top pick: Trois Moulins, 2018 – a Bordeaux blend from Chateau Lacaussade Saint-Martin.

NotMilk – sustainability and ethical review

NotMilk is a brand of pea-based, vegan milk that’s produced by the Chilean company, NotCo. Like Ripple milk, this is based mainly on pea protein and sunflower oil. I tested both products in tea, coffee and cereal. NotMilk gets 3.5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, with one easy way to improve to 4.5 stars.

Founder’s Brewing: Sustainability & KBS review

Founder’s KBS, one of the best beers on the planet, is one sale right now at the Grocery Outlet! I’ll review the beer and take a look at sustainability at Founder’s Brewing Co., now owned by Mahou-San Miguel. 4 Green Stars for social and environmental impact.

Grocery Outlet Wine Sale, Spring 2021

The Grocery Outlet spring 2021 wine sale is happening next week – it starts on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 and runs for a week. My picks: two 2014 reds from Cardella – Ruby Cabernet and Sangiovese.

Sierra Nevada Wanderland nectarine ale

I picked up a six-pack of Sierra Nevada’s latest beer at the Grocery Outlet – the Wanderland nectarine ale. It’s a German-style Kolsch made with nectarines that’s fairly strong (7.5%) but tastes light and deliciously fruity. Serra Nevada brewing has been a longtime leader in sustainability – 4.5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact.

Deschutes Obsidian Stout

I picked up a six-pack of Deschutes Obsidian Stout at the Grocery outlet a week ago. It’s ranked 8th on Beer Advocate’s list of the best American stouts. Overall, I think that Deschutes Obsidian Stout deserves a regular rating of 4 gold stars and an ethical rating of 4.5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact.

Califia Protein Oat milk – sustainability

I picked up a bottle of Califia Protein Oat milk at the Grocery outlet a week ago for $2 – it’s normally $6 at other stores. The Califia Protein Oat milk worked really well in my coffee and tea – it’s similar to Oatly, which I’ve also bought at the Grocery Outlet. Overall, I think that Califia Protein Oat milk deserves 4 Green Stars for social and environmental impact.
